About HTMS:

High Tech Manufacturing Services was started by Brian Smith in partnership with David Kimmitt and Al Halvorsen in 1984 with $5,000.00 in capital. The company's first year of operations was in Al's garage in Vancouver, Washington. In those days Brian managed to call on prospective customers, to pay the bills and invoice customers, while machining parts when needed with Dave and Al.

By the second year of operations HTMS had more demand than the Bridgeport Mill and Southbend Lathe could handle so the three principals decided to expand the business. In the years since those first chips hit the garage floor HTMS has continued to expand on the premise that the customer comes first. As a result HTMS has been in business for two decades and the company is still making machine parts for many of the same customers that helped get the company off the ground in those first weeks and months.
