HTMS Contract Manufracturing Services

HTMS prides itself in its ability to meet our customers ever changing needs. Several HTMS clients partner with us as the manufacturing arm of their business. While precision machining will always be our focus, HTMS customers often require services outside of our normal offering. To this effect, we have begun providing integrated contract manufacturing services to deliver a complete value proposition for our partnering customers.

Material Cost Increases

With the cost of fuel oil increasing almost daily and the overseas demand for steel continuing to be strong we continue to see increases in material costs from metals to plastics. The good news is that the cost increases have slowed a bit this year and are not forecasted at the same growth rates as last year. This has a relatively small impact on our HTMS customer base. On average only 15% of our product cost is driven by material costs. This suggests that a machine part that has a sell price of $100.00 will increase to $101.50 given a 10% jump in material prices.

Drawing Services

Over the last quarter we have been working with our smaller customers to move away from paper drawings and hand sketches of parts that we produce on a repeat basis. This helps insure our customers get consistent parts on spec. It also helps us get going on projects much faster when we don’t have to thumb through a paper drawing file to find the work instructions for manufacturing a specific part.

Keep in mind that we have the capability, internally, to put parts documentation in place for your parts in a variety of standard drawing formats.

Customer Program Management

Sometimes the difference between a successful project and one that didn’t go so well comes down to basic communication. In an effort to insure successful customer experiences with HTMS we offer a single point of contact that will work with your project management team.

Acquisition of Sharp MDI Milling Machine

We continue to add to our toolset at HTMS with the procurement of a Sharp TMV-II Milling Machine with Millpower MDI Controls. This is a great one off prototyping mill and offers excellent productivity enhancements for our customers that have single machine parts for us to manufacture. The addition of the tool also expands our total machine capacity and increases our flexibility in responding to quick turn customer requirements.
